Overview
These notes are meant to be a quick refresher on mechanics if you are already familiar with the trial. They are not meant to be a full guide, as there are plenty of those around already.
During our runs you will get the full explanation as well so don't worry if some of this doesn't make sense to you.
Also read the checklist at the bottom of this page if it's your first time doing a trial.
Trials
Checklist
Check if you have an appropriate amount of potions
Make sure the correct food buff is active
Repair all your gear
Have enough inventory space for the trial loot
Check if you have the 'preparation' cp, this will save you from dying. This cp > any damage cp because if you're dead your dps is 0
Crank up the AoE color all the way to 50 and set it to a bright pink if needed
Make sure you have the recommended addons, in most cases this is Code's Combat Alerts and Raid Notifier. Check out our addon list in Addon Recommendations for a more extensive guide
Turn on nameplates, this makes it way easier to identify priority targets
Turn off anonymous if you want to appear in the logs
Bind roll dodge to a button, double tap is really not reliable enough in most cases
Read up on mechanics if you like, though they will also be explained during the run itself
If you're a healer or tank, try to coordinate buff sets and skills with the other healer/tank so you don't have overlapping buffs where possible. If you only have one setup that's also fine for normal trials
Turn on resource numbers or at least percentages. Most mechanics happen at a specific hp percentage of the boss so this will help you anticipate what's coming next.
Turn on npc subtitles, they will often call out the mechanic as well
For healers, if you like seeing numbers, turn on overhealing combat text. makes healing a lot more satisfying
Turn down or turn off camera shake because it gets really bad in some fights
